Watershed planning at a neighborhood scaleFive Service Groups

Our scientists are organized into five distinct groups that share a common theme: water quality.

Our Site Investigation Field Services team helps consultants and companies characterize hazardous waste sites with cost- and time-saving field data collection techniques consistent with the Triad approach.

The Applied Information Management (AIM) team uses Geographic Information Systems (GIS), custom databases, statistical software, and environmental modeling tools to analyze and visualize data, providing clients with valuable information for sustainable development, planning, decision support, and management.

Using spatial analysis and modeling to understand environmental conditions and conduct field studies, our Agrochemical Fate and Exposure group assesses the vulnerability of water resources and predicts chemical concentrations in the environment.

Our Water Resources and Wastewater group finds cost-effective and manageable ways for communities to protect their water resources and environmentally sensitive areas.

The Information for Sustainable Development (ISD) group gets the right information at the right time to decision makers in governmental agencies, NGOs, and international organizations so they can develop sound strategies and policies to reduce hunger and conflict around the world, and to improve health, education, governance, and the environment.

Stone is based in Montpelier, Vermont, a New England state admired for its quality of life and strong environmental values. Because we’re in such a desirable location, we have been able to recruit some of the country’s best scientists and professionals.

Our principals—Christopher Stone, David Healy, and Seth Pitkin—bring 84 years of combined experience to the company, as well as a strong commitment to customer and employee satisfaction.

Our Core Values

  • Exceed customer expectations for value, innovation, and excellence
  • • Build strong partnerships with all of our stakeholders: customers, co-workers, suppliers, shareholders, and community
