Roxbury Fish Hatchery to be Rebuilt (The Northfield News)
This article in Vermont's "The Northfield News" profiles the history Roxbury Fish Hatchery, the first of it's kind in Vermont. Annually the hatchery drew in around 2500-2800 visitors each summer." And then, suddenly on a late August day in 2011, Tropical Storm Irene visited Vermont, and ironically the Roxbury Fish Culture Station was ravaged by the very waters which had sustained it all these years." The good news, though, is that the station will be fully re-tooled and rebuilt by spring of 2018, with adult yearling fish released in the spring of 2019.
