Lake Watershed Action Plan for Maidstone Lake

Maidstone Lake, a 756-acre lake in northeast Vermont, has increasing phosphorus levels due primarily to incremental development and clearing in the watershed. In developing the Lake Watershed Action Plan, Stone identified relative contributions of nutrient sources and priority projects to reduce sediment and nutrient loadings. Lake shorelines, roadways, and streams were assessed in the field, and results were applied to develop a list of sites contributing sediment and nutrient loads to the lake.
