Work continues on state testing of PCBs in schools

At each of 60 assigned schools in the local region, Stone scientists perform a building materials inventory to develop a sampling strategy, and then conduct indoor air sampling to determine if there are unacceptable levels of PCBs in indoor air.

Targeted Brownfield Assessment and Cleanup of Former Manufactured Gas Plant Site, 260 River Street, Montpelier, Vermont

Stone led the redevelopment of a former MGP site on the Winooski River. Remedial strategies involved the excavation of coal tar from the adjacent river banks and on-site soil management. Completion in June 2022 earned a Certificate of Completion under Vermont’s BRELLA program, with ongoing groundwater monitoring.

In June 2017, Stone was hired by a private developer to perform an ASTM E1527-13 Phase I Environmental Site Assessment of the former Blodgett Ovens factory on Lakeside Avenue in Burlington.
