Design and Construction Oversight of a Pond Upgrade and Stormwater Bumpouts at Pine Grove Terrace, Morehouse Brook, Winooski

In 2018, the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission (CCRPC) and the City of Winooski hired Stone to develop a concept (30%) design for stormwater improvements to address runoff from public highways and directly connected residential impervious surfaces in the Pine Grove Terrace development. The development is located in the Morehouse Brook watershed, which has an approved flow restoration plan (FRP) developed by Stone under an engineering partner in 2013-2017.

Environmental Review and Asbestos Remediation at Bolton Valley Resort

Hands Mill Dam Removal, 30% and Final Engineering Design

The Hands Mill Dam is a partially breached stone masonry and concrete dam located along the Jail Branch in Washington, Vermont. The dam is currently owned by the Town of Washington and was classified as a Class 2 “significant hazard dam” in 2016 by the VT Department of Environmental Conservation Dam Safety Program.

Investigating potential source areas at Energizer, St. Albans

Energizer Battery Manufacturing, Inc. operated a battery and flashlight manufacturing facility in St. Albans, Vermont from 1947 until 2013. Manufacturing processes utilized bulk quantities of the chlorinated solvent trichloroethylene (TCE), primarily for degreasing and parts cleaning. Storage and use practices at the facility resulted in releases of TCE to building materials and the subsurface.

Former Jerry's Nissan

Jerry's Nissan in Rutland, Vermont operated as an automobile sales and service center property from 1974 until it’s closure in 2014. The Vermont Electric Power Company (VELCO) recently retained Stone Environmental, Inc. to perform Phase I and II environmental site assessments (ESAs) of the property prior to their potential purchase of the property.
